Ashton Central Mosque is a registered UK charity (No. 1121224) governed by a Board of Trustees who volunteer their time to ensure the mosque serves the community effectively and transparently.

Our Imams
Providing spiritual guidance, education, and pastoral care to our community
Imam Ghulam Mohyuddin
Head Imam
A British Imam with over 15 years of community service, serving as Head Imam since 2012. He studied at Cambridge Muslim College, the University of Al-Azhar (Egypt), and the University of Cambridge Centre of Islamic Studies.
He engages with local councils, police, magistrates, NHS, and schools on Islamic matters, and provides marriage counselling, pastoral care, and chaplaincy services. He became the first Muslim chaplain to the Mayor of Tameside Borough Council in 2023-2024.
He chairs the Cambridge Muslim College Alumni Advisory Board and has published two books: Prophetic Treasures and Quranic Litanies. He received the Most Impactful Imam award from the British Beacon Mosque Awards in 2023.
Imam Mohammad Habib-Ur-Rehman
Imam
Imam Mohammad began his Islamic studies at the age of 11 in 1999 under the guidance of his father. He furthered his studies at Jamia Nizamia Rizvia in Pakistan (2004-2005) and graduated from Al-Jamia Suffa-Tul-Islam in 2012 after five years of study.
He attended Cambridge Muslim College in 2012-2013 and is known as a poet and Na't Khaan with a beautiful and mesmerising voice. He has established Islamic education classes and madrasah systems in the UK and abroad, including Luton, Newcastle, Gujar Khan, and Azad Kashmir.

Ashton Central Mosque relies on a small team of staff and a large network of volunteers who contribute their time and skills across administration, Madrasah teaching, event organisation, cleaning, and maintenance.
