Inshallah, we will be resuming congregational Friday prayers (Jumu’ah) from this Friday. This decision will remain under constant review and in the event the infection rates in Tameside increase we will suspend congregational prayers again.

In the interest of the health and well-being of all attendees we will be enforcing strict measures.

All attendees must wear masks (over their mouths and nose) AT ALL TIMES. If you have a medical reason for not being able to wear a mask you are politely requested not to attend the mosque. We will be operating a zero tolerance and anyone not complying with this condition will be asked to leave the mosque.

All attendees are required to bring a shoe bag with them. You will not be permitted to leave your shoes near the entrance doors as you will be expected to leave via the nearest exit doors.

The entrance doors will be locked at 12:55 pm. No entrance will be permitted to the mosque after this time. If we reach our maximum capacity before this time we will lock the doors earlier. We understand that you may be frustrated if you are denied entrance if you are late or if there is no capacity – but please respect the decision as it is made in the best interest of everyone concerned.

The Imams will perform a sermon (khutbaah) and lead the fardh prayers. No further prayers will be permitted. Any additional prayers must be performed individually at home.

Volunteers will be in place to assist all attendees. You must follow any instructions you are given. Anyone not following the rules will not be permitted to attend/asked to leave.

As mentioned, we will keep our decision under review and communicate any changes. This situation continues to evolve and we will continue to monitor the relevant government guidance.

In The Name Of Allah, The Utmost-Kind, The Ever-Merciful

Welcome to the website of Ashton Central Mosque, formerly known as the Markazi Jami‘a Mosque, the first and longest established Mosque in Ashton-under-Lyne. Previously located on Newton Street in an old converted school building, we have now by the infinite blessings of Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta ‘Ala, relocated to a purpose built Mosque and Community Centre in the heart of Ashton-under-Lyne on Hillgate Street.

The doors of Ashton Central Mosque are open for all members of the community who wish to visit, learn or have any questions related to Islam and Muslims. At Ashton Central Mosque we strive towards excellence both in faith and action, and therefore encourage all members of the community to come and view the religious and social reforms taking place at Ashton Central Mosque.
